Strong criticism of the United States is now coming from the Speaker of the Danish Parliament and former Minister of Defence, Søren Gade. In a post on Facebook, he writes that he has changed his view of the United States in recent times due to the tone adopted by the current U.S. administration toward Greenland. “I never thought that I would speak critically about the United States. But if I am to be able to look Danish veterans in the eye in the future, I can no longer remain silent,” he writes. Søren Gade describes the tone from the United States as “indecent.” “Therefore, I feel compelled to say that the tone from the American administration is indecent, and I find it very difficult to recognize the United States that I have always been a loyal supporter of,” he writes in the post. –DR
