If you feel numb in life, read this. just took my longest break since I started working in crypto and I’ve never been more excited to get back to work. 2 weeks off of: -social media, -work, -messaging apps, -caffeine, -and Zyns. Instead I: -worked out like a maniac -meditated -let myself be bored -reflected -studied marketing -slept It sucked at times, but was likely the most productive thing I could have done: Goal was the let my mind heal. By the end of 2025 I was not performing well and was trending in the wrong direction. I was making worse decisions, becoming more emotional, and generally being more negative. This means I was very close to burnout. So instead of risking a crashout, I did 2 weeks of work ahead of time so that I could unplug and take a very serious break. The strategy was to reset my dopamine system (strategic boredom), reflect on who I want to be, and learn how to do that. Step 1: reset your dopamine system. The modern world makes you very numb. Social media, brainrot, ragebait, stimulants, and a constant stream of messages are a lot for your brain to handle. cut this cold turkey, you start to feel things again. -Music sounds better, -You laugh harder, -You’re better to be around, -and you even work harder Some call this a dopamine detox. I would highly recommend this to everyone, but only 1% of the people will have the discipline to do so. Step 2: The reflection. I did this yesterday. I had chatGPT create me a 18 page worksheet to fill out that asked me hard questions about 2025, and what to do moving forward. Who I want to be, who I don’t want to be, what I value, what gives me energy, what takes energy away, etc. I pinned myself at my computer writing in detail all of this. I created a fresh slate through the time off, and now to program the best version of me going forward. Step 3: learn how to do that Now that I have an idea on who I want to be, I found courses, YouTube videos, books, and anything from people who I want to be like and just study them. their processes, wisdom, advice, mistakes, wins, losses, routines, all of it. My mind was ready to be molded. This translates open ended motivation to actions that can accomplish my goals. On Monday, I will start work again and am more excited to do the hard things than I have been in a very long time. I feel more alive. I have more clarity. I am excited to wake up everyday.
